1、通过对现在进行时的复习,引入对过去进行时的学习。
2、学习在单句和复合句中对过去进行时的运用。
3、学习when和while引导的时间状语从句中主从句的时态。

一、生活引入
1、 课前热身
T: Good morning, boys and girls! Can you tell me what you
are doing Now?
S1:I am doing my homework.
S2:I am writing.

T: Yes ,all of you did well. We are having English class. But wh-at were you doing at this time yesterday?
简易分析:
提出一个问题,让学生回答,从而引出今天的学习内容。目的是通过对现在进行时的复习,引入对过去进行时的学习.
二、基本功训练
1、知识点学习
(1)What were you doing at this time yesterday?
We were having Chinese class.
提问:过去进行时的概念是什么?基本结构是什么?
简易分析:
比较现在进行时,归纳出过去进行时的基本结构:be(was/were)+Ving.并对比现在进行时与过去进行时及一般过去时的定义区别: 表示在过去某一时刻或某一时间段正在进行的动作。
(2)知识点2:The girl was shopping from 2o’clock to 4o’clock Last Sunday.
He was walking down the street when the UFO arrived.
提问:两句话中,过去进行时的使用有何区别?
简易分析:
对比过去进行时在两句话中的运用,不难看出即可运用在单句,也可运用在复合句中。引出对when 和while 引导的时间状语从句的学习。
(3)知识点3:When the teacher came in, I was reading .
While I was reading, the teacher came in.
提问: 通过观察,归纳出When和While 的主从复合句的时态。
简易分析: 通过出示例句,让学生对比,得出when 和while 引导的主从复合句的时态的区别,同时指出这是本节课和本单元的重难点。
2、知识点演练
用when 和 while 填空。

(解析:此题为改写时间状语题,实则改写时态,即把原来的一般现在时改写成过去进行时,所以应填写was doing)
3. 填空题型
While we____(wait) for the bus, a girl____ (run) up to us.
(解析:本题考查while 引导的主从句的时态,从句用过去进行时,主句用一般过去时,故答案为were waiting, ran)
